Abstract:This project consists of a single-phase DC–AC converter with the purpose of being connected to the grid. Since all the controversies that have been generated about the use of fossil fuels in energy production, especially regarding electricity generation, one of the most promising renewable alternatives is using photovoltaic solar energy. The converter will be made up of a full-bridge inverter, that will be modulated using PWM techniques, a passive damp resonance output filter made by two inductors and a capacitor (LCL) to reduce the high–frequency harmonic load that goes into the grid, and an input filter made by an inductor and a capacitor (LC), to prevent damages downstream the inverter caused by ripple current. Since the purpose of this project is to validate the knowledge acquired, a low–power converter will be built in order to achieve this goal.
