|Title:||Crime in Chicago: 2017|
This visualization details the types of places where crime occurs in Chicago. It also provides historic data going back to 2001 on each form of crime. This visualization can be used to better understand general, as well as specific, trends in crime. Data for this project was obtained from the following: https://www.kaggle.com/chicago/chicago-crime
Upon entering the visualization, the user receives an overview of the general trends in crime. The pie chart on the top left serves as a controller for the visualization, and clicking on a pie piece allows the user to drill down on the chosen type of crime. The visualization responds by altering the line chart of historical data and the bar chart of location data to reflect the user’s choices.
