Abstract:John Corigliano remains a leading composer of twentieth-century American music. While many of his works are acclaimed, his Concerto for Piano and Orchestra is less well known than his other concerti. This project focuses on this piece and includes an analytical overview and detailed performance guide with interpretative suggestions, solutions for technical challenges, and practice suggestions that encourage pianists to approach this piece more easily.
