sustainable agriculture circular economy |
Abstract: | John Mulrow - Interim Executive Director at Plant Chicago NFP. Plant Chicago takes a hands-on approach to developing integrated systems of food production, energy conservation and material re-use. Through partnerships with public and private organizations, we identify, build, test, and refine innovative models of the circular economy. Our circular economy model is taught to schools, public tour groups and entrepreneurs, using current pilot projects to demonstrate the tangible benefits of these systems. We are based at The Plant, a 93,000 square foot former meat-packing plant on Chicago's south side. Our relationship with The Plant has helped us to bring circular economies and local communities together. This presentation will explain how and provide a vision for other communities to do the same. |
