Abstract:Adapting to the rapidly evolving user behavior is a perennial challenge for academic libraries. This article presents a case study of an international, multi-disciplinary initiative where library instruction was fully embedded and recognized as a core contributor to the program. As a proactive partner of the program, the author was able to demonstrate the value of library instruction with strong visibility and impact. The author provides several implications drawn from this case study. Experiential learning is quickly becoming a major theme in higher education, and this case study shows how embedded library instruction can create a compelling value proposition.
