Description

Title:Technological change and professional identity
Author(s):Nielsen, Brian
Subject(s):Libraries --Automation
Library science --Data processing
Information technology
Abstract:What I will present here consists of a number of seemingly disparate trails of thinking that I have been pursuing for the past four years or so. Charting those trails on a single map, relating technological change in the information world to the ongoing history of librarianship, as well as to larger managerial and social issues, is what I hope is accomplished in this paper.
