Title:Noise of fluid power systems literature review; literature review noise of fluid power systems

Abstract:This report summarizes a literature study of the problem of noise produced by a fluid power system. A review of journal papers, reports, books, and other relevant bibliographies (all published since 1950) has resulted in the compilation of an annotated listing containing some 200 entries. A discussion preceding the bibliography, written as a survey of the state of knowledge reflected by the bibliography, reviews material gleaned from papers dealing in appropriate subject areas. Many publications, not dealing directly with noise production or suppression, have been included in the listing since they were judged to contain significant information of value to the researcher on noise in fluid power systems. This literature review indicates that while there has been serious study of the nature and origins of the noise produced by fluid power systems, much yet remains to be learned.
