Abstract:From the Introduction: The strength of cross-ply and angle-ply laminates remains a relatively unexplored region in the realm of composite materials. Laminates composed of continuous fiber lamina oriented at angles of 0°/90° (cross-ply) or some plus/minus angle (angle-ply) to a laminate reference axis are heterogeneous anisotropic materials, presenting formidable obstacles to experimentation and analysis.
