Title:Semi-analytical finite-element analysis for elastic solids of revolution

Abstract:The finite -element displacement method is used to determine the response of a linear elastic solid of revolution with a central hole, when subjected to a general symmetric loading. A review of the necessary part of elasticity theory, a development of isoparametric elements, and the derivations of the necessary equations are presented. Answers to some known problems are supplied for verification of the program developed. A listing of the program source deck, its description, and a user's manual are included in the appendices.
