Abstract:This report is comprised of four papers, recently submitted for publication to the ASCE Journal of Engineering Mechanics. The first two, covering free and forced vibration of an undamped simple beam coupled to a multiplicity of undamped linear oscillators, provide an introduction to the method. The latter two address the problems of viscously damped beamoscillator and plate-oscillator systems, respectively.
