Abstract:Experimental evidence is presented to show that in the outer region of wall-bounded turbulent flow both the eigenfunctions and the eigenvalue spectra of the onedimensional proper orthogonal decomposition have forms that are independent of Reynolds number when scaled by the wall friction velocity and the outer length scale.
