Title:Non-compliant and Proud: A Case Study of HTTP Compliance
Author(s):Adamczyk, Paul; Hafiz, Munawar; Johnson, Ralph E.
Subject(s):computer science
Abstract:We studied the most popular websites in the US and around the world and discovered that few of them implement the HTTP standard completely. However, the servers are capable of implementing HTTP correctly; it is the configurations that are non-compliant. It is not hard to configure servers correctly, so these websites are non-compliant out of choice, not necessity.
