Description
Title: | When I Served the Post as a Coachman (Talk) |
Author(s): | Randolph, John |
Subject(s): | iam postal coach mobility Russian empire |
Abstract: | This is a talk I presented at the Davis Center of Harvard University in the Fall of 2008. I'm converting it into an article, I hope, and in general look forward to any thoughts or suggestions you may have on the contents therein. It concerns two things, really: 1) a general sketch of some good questions (and reasons for asking them) about mobility; and 2) a discussion of the politics surrounding one of Russia's first letter post system. |
