Abstract: The balance between learning and doing is impacted by new technologies for learning. In this paper, we explore a framework for expertise that emphasizes the power of multiple coordinated representations. We use a learner-centered taxonomy of technology uses for learning as a framework for systematically developing powerful environments for learning.
