Abstract:This paper summarizes the results of static and fatigue tests conducted at the University of Illinois on structural joints using high tensile steal bolts as the fasteners. The teats indicate that high tensile bolted joints ere generally superior to similar riveted joints, whether subjected to static or fatigue type loadings.
