Abstract:This study covers the rural areas of Cass, Menard, and Morgan Counties. The Macon County data includes Decatur. This compilation has two immediate purposes: 1.) to provide material to place the activities of the Broadwells in context, and 2.) to provide data for the Clayville Folk Arts Guild on what the trades and occupations of people in the 1840s and 1850s were and their relative importances, so that its members have some guidelines to expand interpretive activities. 31p.
