Abstract: Cyclotron resonance experiments have been performed on single crystals of high purity, n-type CdTe at 4.2°K. A reflection type microwave spectrometer was employed, operating at a frequency of 70 Gc. The mass and the mobility of the carriers, as determined from the resonance spectra, identify the carriers as electrons. The effective mass of electrons in the conduction band of CdTe was measured to be m 1m = 0.096 + 0.005. This mass value was p e - isotropic under rotation of the magnetic field in the (110) plane of the sample. An excitation spectrum revealed a maximum in the photosensitivity in the region of the first direct exciton peak. Changes in the shape of the resonance spectrum as a function of the intensity and wavelength of the incident illumination "Tare recorded.
