Abstract: | De Gennes' equation for the gap parameter in superposed films of normal and superconducting materials have been s9lved via a numerical technique. Thia is based upon a variation approach used by Silvert and Cooper. The solution indicates that the approximate anlytical procedure used by Werthamer is accurate ,for thick-dirty films. However, for thinner-cleaner films, his approximate calculation of T is shown to lead to errors as big as 25%. Our calaulation leads to an improved agreement between theory and experiment. |
