Abstract:Cyclostationary light, which accurately models ultrafast pulsed laser sources, is compared to a conventional stationary light source. The nonzero cross-spectral correlations introduced by the theory of cyclostationarity appreciably modify detection outputs. The diffraction patterns generated are, in general, different than those obtained from stationary or deterministic fields. By creating a general case ray tracing simulator, truly arbitrary diffraction masks can be utilized.
