Title:Free Discharge in DBD System

Abstract:This thesis analyzes the behavior that is observed between plasma and varying distance between two microcavities in a DBD (dielectric barrier discharge) model. The cavity that produces bounded plasma is made with two microcavities that are separated by 80 mu m to 400 mu m. Each device cavity's major axis is 700 + or - 50 mu m, and its minor axis is 240 + or - mu m. Each device will be measured with varying pressure from about 300 to 760 torr. Changing the pressure will change the characteristics of the plasma. Optical properties of the plasma will be measured as the separation distance changes.
