Abstract: | The interaction of multiconductor transmission lines with electromagnetic (EM) radiation is generally accounted by voltage and current sources distributed along the line. This paper is based on the results established by [1] which relate the incident fields to these current and voltage sources, for the general case of transmission lines with its conductors embedded in an inhomogeneous dielectric medium through the definition of a set of effective heights, which are dependent on the geometric and material electromagnetic properties of the cross-sectional geometry of the multi-conductor transmission line. The paper presents a methodology that is used to calculate the effective heights for a given geometry, which can then be used to find the induced current and voltage sources along the transmission line due to the incident EM wave. |
