Abstract:In early August, we began to circulated information about our disaster preparedness workshops that were to be offered in four Alabama locations: Gadsden, Tuscumbia, Bay Minette, and Selma. We selected consultant, Randy Silverman, to present the workshops.

Publisher:In 2009, the five grant partners began to promote all grant activities as the Alabama Cultural Commons.
In promoting our events and activities, we were fortunate to have a directory of collecting organizations. Our first grant activity enlarged an existing index and enabled us to identify 1,403 Alabama collecting organizations. The Alabama Department of Archives and History used Constant Contact to promote our first round of messages. Grant partners sent follow-up promotions. In addition, the Alabama Public Library Service sent information to its membership.
