Title:The Mechanics of Book Selection
Author(s):Chitwood, Jack
Subject(s):Book selection
Acquisitions (Libraries)
Abstract:There is not a large mass of literature dealing with the mechanics of book selection. Most references to this or related topics are concerned either with the broader aspects of policy, with the "why" of selection, or with order procedures. It is possible sometimes to ferret pertinent information from these materials; on the other hand, it is obvious that many book selection policies are predominantly concerned with the mechanics of selection rather than with policy.
