Title:Visualizing Life Entanglement by Using Raw Animal Material in Studio Art
Author(s):Seo, Jina
Subject(s):Art and Design
Abstract:My research focuses on finding connections and interactions between myself and other happenings around me. In Buddhism, a life seems to be a vast woven composition of numerous elements, leading things to arise dependently upon multiple causes and conditions. It is impossible to define the start and end or the importance of the events that occurred in ones life because of this entanglement. As a way to transform the connections into my visual language, I use raw materials such as wool, mohair, cotton and silk. The raw materials represent a relationship between the universe and me. By stitching them together, I trace back to my past through the present and reconnect aspects of my life to the future.
