Abstract:Recommendations from the study include: training preservice teachers to work with others whose perspectives are different from their own; providing pre-student teachers' with experiences to develop an empathy for and understanding of lower ability students; and assisting pre-student teachers in understanding their own critical thinking processes to aid them in the development of interesting and relevant lessons from textbook content.
