Abstract:In the second part of this study, the flying/contacting dynamics of sub-5 nm HDIs in direct relation to roughness and electrostatic force were investigated using a 2-degree-of-freedom dynamic model, which incorporates the basic elements developed in the first part of this thesis. Then, design-of-experiment method was implemented to gain insights to designing HDI geometries that are best optimized for sub-5 nm flying with negligible contact or contacting interfaces with minimal wear and bouncing vibrations.
