Abstract:The incorporation of folding features into the imine oligomers increases the kinetic stability under hydrolysis conditions by burying the labile imine bond. The imine bond in the imine dodecamer shows an order of magnitude longer half-life compared with the imine tetramer. The folding process could affect either the protonation or attack of water in the hydrolysis mechanism. Similar trends were observed for imine reduction experiments.
