Abstract: | The seemingly divergent interpretations are reconciled by the cultural perceptions of the medium employed-the immovable rock cliff. Crow interpretations of rock art, therefore, rest as much on the rock face and its place in the landscape as on the comprehension of culturally defined symbols. |
