Abstract:My dissertation research studies the mechanism that marine iguanas use to mediate tradeoffs between mortality and reproductive success associated with alternative strategies. I studied hormonal correlates of alternative phenotypes and mating strategies; which factors affect "decisions" about which strategy to use; and diurnal and seasonal changes in hormone levels.
