Abstract: | London's technical explorations serve a dramatic exploration: In Heinrich's Shoes attempts to mirror the emotional and dramatic journey found in the source composition. The challenge of this task is clear when one realizes that Schutz's Passion is propelled by its text, while London's new work has no text at all. In conclusion, this thesis argues that In Heinrich's Shoes is not so much a programmatic depiction of the Passion story as it is a manifestation of an analogous emotional journey. |
