Abstract: | Experiments were performed on mixtures with varying water-cement ratios (w/c = 0.40, 0.50, and 0.60), chemical admixtures (accelerant and retardant), mineral admixtures (silica fume and fly ash), and coarse aggregate (pea gravel). The time of setting and compressive strength of the various mixtures was determined in accordance with ASTM standards. Experimental results provide evidence that the setting times and compressive strength of early age cementitious materials can be monitored using ultrasonic guided waves. |
