Abstract:This thesis reports on the implementation of a temperature sensor utilizing dual oscillator temperature measurement principles. Integrated Circuit temperature sensors have been widely used in applications of circuit boards and CPUs in computer and mobile devices. The old design using band-gap temperature sensing topology suffers from the large area and the high complexity of the circuit. Our circuit implementation is inspired by the dual oscillator measurement principle, which is utilized in the application of frequency meter, etc. Implementing this circuit using Verilog-AMS, we prove that this approach can be used to build an IC temperature sensor with high-temperature resolution. Theories and calculations are included, and further improvements are discussed in detail.
