From the redeployability perspective, all three empirical studies explore how MNEs’ sequential decision-making may help modify their resource base to improve performance and secure competitive advantage. With the context of US pharmaceutical firms’ global investments, this dissertation seeks to connect the redeployability perspective with international business (IB) phenomena and thus provide more empirical evidence for this value-creation mechanism through which firms free up and redeploy resources across countries. In addition, this dissertation examines potential boundary conditions for the redeployability perspective in IB research.
