A person-centered approach to assessing leadership course impact Klein, Robert 2023-07-07 Leadership Development Assessment College Students This study uses the Ready, Willing, and Able Leadership (RWAL) Scale to examine the relationship between enrollment in leadership courses and student leader capacity. Our multilevel modeling approach reveals that enrollment does not significantly impact motivation to lead or leadership skill, but it is a significant predictor of leader self-efficacy. These findings emphasize the importance of considering individual variations in leader capacity development. Our study contributes to the literature on leadership education, highlighting the potential of enrollment in leadership courses to enhance students’ confidence in their leadership abilities. Further research is needed to explore additional variables and refine measurement methods. Our findings have implications for curriculum design and pedagogical approaches in leadership education, aiming to empower future leaders to address contemporary challenges.
