<dc:description>This study examines perspectives of independent samples of 127 high school workers and 95 managers on the socialization process in the workplace characterized by youth employment. A written questionnaire and interview schedule were used to obtain their respective perceptions about the importance of responsibility in the socialization practices of managers and opinions about the involvement of managers in the development of high school workers.</dc:description>
<dc:description>The results of the study show some differences between youth and managers in their perceptions about the importance of personal and social responsibility in managerial practices, which seem reflected in the difference in their opinions about barriers that prevent managers from becoming involved in the development of high school students who work. The findings suggest that a better correspondence between learning and teaching responsibility in the workplace characterized by youth employment could enhance the socialization of many contemporary youth who work.</dc:description>
