Rydberg transitions of the molecule and monitoring the suppression of the second continuum emission (See document for equation). Energy levels lying »18210 cm−1 (549 nm) and 12500-14800 cm−1 (675-800 nm) above the minimum (Te) of the metastable a3§+u (1u) state correlated, in the separated atom limit with Xe(6s3P2 + Xe(5p6 1S0)), are studied in detail. Spectra obtained in the 675-800 nm range have been analyzed and the following spectroscopic constants associated with the Xe2 (5)1g electronic state have been determined: (See document for equation). The spectra have tentatively been assigned to transitions between the (1)1u and (5)1g states of the molecule.
