<dc:description>The signal flow graph application to the analysis of multiphoton interactions has been developed in this study. It is shown that the Schrodinger equation for the multiphoton interactions can be represented as signal flow graphs in the semiclassical limit. A few examples are given to illustrate the construction, manipulation and application of the graphs.</dc:description>
<dc:description>Also, the generation of temporally short far infrared pulses and their evolution in time and space have been examined experimentally and theoretically. It is shown that the far infrared pulsewidth can be as short as one-half the pump pulsewidth which is already shorter than the molecular relaxation times. In particular, the far infrared pulse energy is found to be scaled in z as(' )e('SQRT.(gz), contrary to the Beer's law growth, e('gz).</dc:description>
