Menchetti, Bruce Michael 2014-12-15T18:51:42Z 2014-12-15T18:51:42Z 10000-01-01 1987 1987 Psychometric properties of the Vocational Assessment and Curriculum Guide (VACG), a scale designed to measure the vocational and social skills of disabled persons interested in competitive employment, were addressed. Reliability issues including stability of measurement, internal consistency, and interobserver agreement were examined. A validation procedure was conducted to determine whether VACG domain scores discriminated between subject groups with different employment characteristics. Findings suggested that the VACG provided reliable and valid measures of subjects' skills. Test-retest coefficients were high to moderate. Alpha coefficients obtained for VACG domain scores ranged from.59 to.91. Interobserver agreement percentages ranged from 90 to 100. The validation results suggested that VACG domain scores could be useful in discriminating between subjects with different ability levels. Tukey's honestly significant difference tests discriminated between subjects in sheltered work settings who had never been competitively employed and subjects who were working successfully in competitive jobs. The results suggested that the VACG could be a useful tool in the vocational assessment of disabled persons interested in competitive employment.
