<dc:description>Information is regarded as a source of a person's power. It is embedded in information interdependency relationships. Matrix Algebra techniques are used to estimate a person's information power. This study investigates the extent to which researchers (users) with different information power perceive differently the importance of a project control system (MIS). The research is conducted in a government research laboratory.</dc:description>
<dc:description>Results show weak support of the relationships between users' information power and their perceived importance of the MIS. The lack of relationships found may be due to management's use of an MIS just as a device to legitimize organizational operations.</dc:description>
