<dc:description>Atropine sulfate is an important therapeutic agent for treating anticholinesterase toxicosis, but atropine also is a strong anticholinergic drug with side effects. Twenty volunteers received a placebo control and atropine doses of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 mg/75 kg in a Latin Square double blind design, and effects were monitored for 3 hr post-injection.</dc:description>
<dc:description>Primary task performance on six root mean square errors were tested in a multivariate analysis of variance, and the treatment effect was significant (F(24, 1236) = 5.95, p .10), (b) "difficulty swallowing," ED50 = 2.11 mg ((chi)('2)(1, N = 4) = 2.11, p > .10), (c) tachycardia, ED50 = 2.58 mg ((chi)('2)(1, N = 4) = 2.74, p .10), (e) photophobia, ED50 = 4.28 mg ((chi)('2)(1, N = 4) = 4.38, p .10).</dc:description>
