<dc:description>Scalar diffraction theory is used to derive the final fringe formation equations in a spatial filtering setup for a double-apertures specklegram. Both the pointwise and full-field filtering setups are analyzed. The resulting equations are shown to be more complete and exact than the equations from the conventional Moire analysis.</dc:description>
<dc:description>The range of possible in-plane displacement measurement is analyzed. Several experimental demonstrations are presented. The results agree very well with the equations derived and are within the predicted range of measurement.</dc:description>
