This study examined two Illinois school districts that received the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence Award. The research was conducted by reviewing archival documents of each district, by interviewing district personnel and by conducting focus group interviews. The results of the study indicated that participation in the Lincoln Foundation for Performance excellence process positively affected the educational practices of both schools used in this qualitative case study.
