The results showed that opinion leaders were more likely to use a wider range of sources of information that contact farmers. Opinion leaders were predominantly male household heads. Both male and female household heads tended to seek agricultural information from male household heads. Education was significantly correlated with the use of more sources of information. Farm courses, agricultural radio programs, and social status accounted for 37 percent of the variance in the utilization of hybrid maize recommended production practices (p $<$.05).
