<dc:description>To grasp a better understanding of activities taken by the human engineers in the real world, an experiment with human engineers in action in the field of aircraft design has been undertaken for the thesis. Several facts were found in the experiment including that recurring patterns of cooperative actions, called routines, were absolutely essential in cooperative replanning. The findings were theorized and transferred to the area of distributed artificial intelligence. Then, as a part of the study, a computational model of cooperative reactive replanning in response to conflicts by artificial intelligence was implemented based on the theories.</dc:description>
