Khan, Adalat 2015-09-25T22:33:37Z 2015-09-25T22:33:37Z 10000-01-01 1997 1997 Studies conducted in soil naturally infested with Verticillium dahliae revealed that initial infections of horseradish roots occured shortly after planting and probably continued throughout the season. Verticillium dahliae was first isolated from feeder roots one month after planting. Discoloration symptoms were observed two months after planting and disease incidence and severity reached a maximum in August. Greenhouse studies indicated that V. dahliae was able to penetrate both injured and non-injured roots. Under field conditions V. dahliae was first isolated from the feeder roots, indicating that most infections probably occur through the feeder roots.
