There are similarities between the monolingual and heritage speakers regarding familiarity with and use of the grammatical subjunctive. Heritage speakers seem to be more tolerant towards the ungrammatical presence of indicative, like L2 learners; however, heritage speakers show differences with the learners in that heritage speakers use the subjunctive more.
