Family-focused interventions and group interventions were recommended by parents as the most effective ways of helping families of suicidal adolescents. Implications for social work practice include focus on family and spiritual strengths, emphasis on collaboration with parents, and use of an empathic, non-judgmental, and caring approach in order to help families of suicidal adolescents.
