Masculine prefixed nouns in Bulgarian, with the exception of those that have roots or prefixes that condition prefixal or root stress, also have lexically assigned accent, despite the fact that they are motivated by prefixed verbs. Thus, the distribution of stress in prefixed nouns in Bulgarian and Russian may largely be accounted for by the application of certain morphological, phonological, syntactic and semantic rules.
