Self-assembly automatically brings individual components together to build functional units, like playing "LEGOs". My research is playing the "LEGO" at the nanoscale, to synthesize high-quality nanocrystals and self-assemble them into functional nanodevices with desired properties. In this image, Monodisperse nanorods self-assemble into beautiful fish-like architectures and perform the desired functions!
