Abstract

With a flip of a switch, electrons rush to light up a room. With a click of a mouse, electrons rush to compute π. With a touch of a hand, electrons rush to run LinkedIn. Without us even noticing, electrons sustain our chemical and biological well-being. Yet, one is to find an electron to thank to. Only through advanced simulations, we can predict where the workhorses of technology and life are. The image reveals the electrons (gray color) within an InGaN material alloy (In: red color, Ga: green color, and N: blue color) – a critical semiconductor used in solid-state lighting.
